This month is Liz's month. She wanted to do a classic pinwheel design. So we all got to work. The first one I did in blues, but didn't really like the fabric. So I made a second one in green. Love the fabric, but I love the contrast of the blues. She got both. She can choose which one to put in. You will have to go to the blog to see my blocks. I didn't take pictures before I gave them away.
My month is March. In searching for ideas of what type of blocks I want, I came across this pattern at Moda Bake Shop. I thought it was really fun. I pulled together a bunch of fabric I had just bought and went to work. I still have another 3 blocks to hook on, but I ran out of white fabric. So the top will have to wait until this weekend to get finished.
Things I've learned about piecing together quilts (with my limited experience)
*quilting is expensive (until I get enough good scraps saved up)
*I have to be more exact. I'm not a perfectionist, but I'm going to have to learn to be if I keep this up.
*Ironing down all the seams is A LOT of work, (is it really that necessary?)
*Sewing is fun and relaxing to me.
*I love creating things.

wow. gorgeous. and i agree with all of it. (except the expensive part since i just used random scraps i already had.) especially the ironing seams part. not to mention the steam-burned fingertips. fun times :)
oh, amy, it looks fantastic! i totally have the bug- but i'm forcing myself to finish a few other projects first...
I agree with absolutely everything you've "learned" from quilting! I'm the exact same! I'll let you live it out first before I dive in after you!!!
I think it's time for that "evening quilting/sewing withOUT kids night"!!
