Spring Break

Isaac has had Spring Break this week and Aaron requested the week off, so we have had some much needed fun family time. The weather has been beautiful! Here are a few things we have done.

Easter

Aaron took the boys camping. They stayed in a Tee-pee, went canoeing on a lake, and hiked a ton. They had a great time. Isaac said he wants to live in the outdoors.

They hiked to their hearts content...or until Hayden gave out.

They had a great time canoeing. It's a good thing Hayden didn't fall out, I'm not sure his life jacket would have saved him.

Everyone had a great time.

We also did a lot of yard work. We are flower beds are ready for lots of pretty flowers...we just need to wait a few weeks to make sure it stays warm.

The Zoo

Yesterday I ventured out with ALL the kidlings to the zoo. We packed a lunch and off we went. The kids had a blast, and I actually enjoyed myself. The weather was beautiful...about 70! We all came home with pink arms...it felt great to be out. We saw all kinds of fun animals. Hayden came home and told Aaron, "me need otter for my birthday." While at the zoo, every animal we saw he said he wanted it for his birthday. We have a few months until his birthday, so hopefully he will forget.

Hayden's favorite animals to see were the otters, the giraffe, the zebra's, the gorillas, the pooping elephant...pretty much everything.
I actually thought he would be afraid, because if a cat or dog comes close to him he screams and runs.
We had fun feeding these rainbow birds. The ended up crawling up my arm and pooping on me...see if I feed them again!

Caite liked the rain forest and the cool blue bird.

Isaac thought the bear was pretty cool because it came right up to them.

I liked the Bald Eagles, they were in an open exhibit because the have wing damage and can't fly.
They were catching some shade in the bushes. I got a cool shot.
Halle was good in the stroller for the first 20 minutes. Then she started to scream. Fortunately I expected that so a brought her snuggli also. Once she was attached to me she was fine.We had such a good time that I think we will get an annual pass. It will pay for itself in just three trips. That's worth it.

I Did It!

It's true, I succumbed to peer pressure and my fear of the technical world and started a blog for our family. Over the past year I have enjoyed catching up on the lives of many of you and decided that it would be nice for me to do the same for you.

We had our 4th little one on Christmas Eve and life has forever been changed. I'm still trying to figure out how and when I can get things done with a screaming baby. I'm slowly getting in the groove. Most people said adding the third was the hardest and then any additional baby is easy. They LIED!!! This is by far the hardest transition. It could be that Aaron has worked 100 hour work weeks most of the time so I don't get much of a break. Maybe I just need to chill and not worry about my house being perfect or say it's okay to just have hot dogs for dinner instead of a nice meal. I'll get it one of these days!

Meet the Fam:

Isaac just turned 7. He is a true boy. He loves to play soccer , take things apart and make contraptions, play outside, and bug his sister. He is a good help with Baby Halle, he will hold her when she is screaming and I'm trying to make dinner or fold laundry.

This is Isaac after school on his birthday. He loves the skateboard and Crocks are his favorite shoes.

Caite is 4. She loves to sing and dance around the house and secretly thinks she's Hannah Montana. Caite's favorite thing to do is talk...her mouth never stops! It's so nice once she is in bed and it's quiet in the house. She went through a phase for almost 2 years where she would only wear dresses and skirts. I'm glad that's over, but now she will only wear 3 outfits. She's funny.

Hayden is almost 3 and is a sweet boy. He keeps us all laughing and loving eachother. He is the best hugger and kisser in the family. Sunday I came home from a meeting after church and found him laying on the kitchen counter with Doctor Dad getting ready to put his forhead back together. He had an incident with the lock on the door knob.

Halle is 2 1/2 month. She still a little peanut...11.6 lbs, but maybe she'll stay a baby longer. She's starting to smile and we love it. I love having a baby sleep through the night...it makes up for the screaming all day. I have more than enough helpful or not so helpful hands with the older kids around. We are glad to have Halle as part of the family.

I just got called as the Enrichment Leader at church...again. This makes 4 times! Apparently I haven't learned how to do it yet. Aaron in his spare...very spare...time is the Scout Master.
So there you have it. A quick up date on us. Now I can post fun stuff.
