Lolita Lunch Gut

Here she is. She love to eat...anything all day long. She's the happiest in her high chair surrounded by anything yummy. And it's true that she needs 18 month size pants just to fit her belly, not her legs...they are a little on the short side.

Hayden says "there's a baby in her tummy because it's so big".

Watching History Unfold

Yesterday was Inauguration Day for President Obama. I didn't want to miss history unfold so I put Halle down for a nap and turned a movie on for Hayden. The house was quiet so I could focus on the event of the moment. I watch as President Obama was sworn in as our 44th President. I was very impressed with his speech and found myself wanting to find hope in his words. I am not a fan of politicians, I believe most of them do it for self gratification. I do believe for now that President Obama's heart is in the right place and that he truly wants to fix what has been broken. It will take time, a long time to fix the economy, the system, and the government. I think it is just as much our job as Americans to come together and help as it is the governments job. It's a two way relationship, and I believe many people have forgotten that. They rely on the government for too many things too often.

So for now I pray for our President to have wisdom and our Country to pull through. I pray that we can get back to our origins. Back to where our Founding Fathers intended America to be..."One nation under God!"

Tradition

The kids and I have a little tradition. The nights Aaron has to sleep over at the hospital, I always make homemade pizza. (we'll have to think of something else to eat when Aaron has a month of nights, I can't eat pizza every night...the kids probably can) The kids ALWAYS want pepperoni. I think they just like "decorating" the pizza with pepperoni, because Caite never eats them and Hayden usually doesn't. Isaac likes taking the extra that the kids pick off. So here was our Friday night before Isaac's big game...we won again...we are 5-0, nice track record it you ask me.

Go BULLDOGS!

For the past month every Tuesday and Friday night you can find our family at the Community Center cheering on our favorite basketball team...the Bulldogs. Isaac is LOVING basketball, and they have a pretty good team (for 1st and 2nd graders). We are about half way through the season and so far the Bulldogs are UNDEFEATED. Coach Clausen, aka Brother Clausen, our home teacher, has done a great job teaching these beginners the game and some skills. I've been impressed. Most importantly they have worked very well together as a team and are having fun. There have been a few teams we have played where some of the kids get mad, stomp they're feet, and are poor sports when we beat them. Inappropriate. So I'm glad our team is just happy to play and are doing their best. Thanks Coach!Getting ready to start. Isaac is #10. Our coach is in gray.

Jesus wants Hayden for a Sunbeam

We have been helping Hayden count down the days until he got to be a Sunbeam and go to Primary. Today was the BIG day. When he woke up this morning I told him it was Sunday and he was a Sunbeam now. He looked out the window and said, "Mom, it's cloudy, not Sunday so I can't be a Sunbeam today." Well, we went to Church anyway, and Hayden did go into Sunbeams and he loved it. He has a fantastic teacher, Sis. Pierson, who will be wonderful. I'm thankful for my kids teachers at Church. They do such a good job teaching them what we are trying to at home.
