All About Caite
(according to me)
Caite is ALL girl, from the her perfectly picked out outfits (although they don't always match), to her must have hair bows, to her red toenail polish. It is so fun to have a girly girl sandwiched between two brute boys. Her face lights up the room when she smiles. She has her Daddy wrapped around her little finger. If you ask her what Dad is getting her for when she turns 16, she will tell you "a pink car". Caite lived in 3 different countries by the time she was a year old (Grenada, St. Vincent, and the blessed US of A). She is a peacemaker in our family. When there is a fight over something, she will ALWAYS be the one to give in and let her brothers have their way. She tries hard to obey and reminds her brothers to do the same. Caite has a memory like an elephant, she can remember what she got in a goody bag from a friends birthday party 2 years ago...what in the world! She is a wonderful big sister and is always looking out for Halle. Caite brightens each day for me, I really am blessed to have her for my daughter. I couldn't ask for more.

Hitting the Trails

This week we decided to unplug the TV. I haven't decided if that was smart or stupid yet, we'll see. We have a bunch of trails that go through the neighborhoods of Maumelle. One starts in our back yard and we can go for miles and miles if we want. The kids took their bikes this time and had a great time. This summer stuff is fun, but it's going to kill me having all the kids home. I'm trying to keep us as busy as possible to eliminate the fighting at home. Fortunately we live in a place where we have a lot of option of cheap entertainment.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Arkansas Children's Hospital sponsored a Family Night with the Arkansas Travelers. We enjoyed a pre-game BBQ and the game with other Doctors and their families. Isaac especially liked the game. When they played the Chicken Song, Isaac won a ball for being the best Chicken Dancer ( I wish I would have gotten a picture). It was hilarious! Hayden enjoyed popcorn and sprite, Caite just liked being with her Daddy, and Halle is becoming a trooper being drug everywhere. It was nice to spend time with Dad!

Fame

Isaac: "Hey mom we're going to be famous!"

That was Isaac's reaction after our encounter with Fox News this morning. It just so happened that this morning I took the kids on a walk across the "Big Dam Bridge". It's close to our house and a fun place to walk. The kids loved walking across the river and being able to see look down on it. They also saw the cool "lock system they used to use with Steamboats a long time ago. So we walked across and walked back...I think it's a good 2 miles round trip...or it seemed like that walking at a 3 -year -olds pace. On our way back I could see tons of people and News Vans. Come to find out the Surgeon General was in town from Washington D.C. to promote exercise for children and talk about the child obesity problem. So we happened to be in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. And it just so happens that Aaron and I made the decision just a few days ago that we would unplug the TV...mostly due to kids fighting and not obeying, but whatever works. So we were interviewed and video taped and made our Debut on the Fox 5:00 news. Here's the link for the written article. You can click on the video in the right hand corner with the picture of Caite's pink shoes and listen to the interview.

That's my Man

Aaron works VERY hard and puts in EXTREMELY long hours at Arkansas Children's Hospital . Every time I meet someone he works with, they praise him. Doctors compliment him regularly. So I wasn't surprised when last night we were invited to the Residency Graduation (even though he isn't graduating), and he was awarded the "Outstanding Intern". Now he has a new plaque to add to his collection. Aaron was quite surprised and humbled that his colleagues thought so highly of him. That says a lot coming from such a huge hospital.

Way to go Aaron...I love You

Neglect

I have neglected my blog the last several weeks. Time seems to be slipping by so quickly. Now that Isaac is out of school, I have been trying to keep us all busy and happy. Most days it would probably be beneficial to wear a referee shirt and have a whistle. Here are pictures of what we have been up to.
