Halle has her first ear infection. She started with a fever on Sunday afternoon and became really fussy as the night progressed. Aaron checked her out Monday morning and sure enough she has an infected ear. With it being her first we chose not to do antibiotics, just ear drops and motrin. We wanted her body to fight it off. This morning she seems to be back to normal. We are lucky to have healthy kids. In our 8 years of experience and 4 kids, we have only had 2 ear infections. Not bad. It's nice to have a doctor around when they do get sick.

Heck ya! So lucky to have a built-in doc around!
charlie hadn't ever had one before either (at least not that i know of) until a few weeks ago. aah! i thought we got off without. what ear drops did you use? i didn't want to do abx either but the dr wouldn't recommend anything else.
The drops are an Rx A/B otic drops. it's basicly a numbing drop. It seemed to work.
I'm with you fluids, rest, hugs and kisses. Let the body figure it out.
I'm glad that she's feeling better.
so it turns out that charlie's ear infxn is still there despite the 10 days of amox that we did. i wish the dr. had suggested ear drops instead. i'm going to ask next time. he now prescribed a cephalosporin which i am very hesitant to give him.
