MUD RUN!

Yesterday was Little Rock's Annual 5k Mud Run, and of course Isaac was all about it! It is definitely an unconventional 5k. It's held in the middle of some kind of farm land and the trails weave in and out of crops. In the middle of the run they always put in some type of obstacle...for example, hay barrels to climb over, Human Shields to pass by...this year they had to do a 3-legged race in the middle of it. And due to the time of year, you are supposed to wear some type of silly costume. Keep in mind it's a mud run, so the costume has to be one you are willing to ruin. Aaron wore an old pair of scrubs and the famous Pink Hat that keeps appearing in our house dispite our best efforts to give it back to Papa. And Isaac wore an old Flash Gordon costume. It was fitting for our track star! Out of the 3.2 miles, Isaac ran all but 1/3 mile. Way to go Flash! At the end of the race there is a 100 yard mud pit that you have to crawl through to get to the finish line. Yeah...Ewww Gross! Me and the other kids met them at the end to take pictures.
For those of you who know Aaron well, you will know how uncharacteristic getting diry is for him. But for the LOVE of ISAAC and RUNNING, he broke out of his shell.
Here's the story in pictures.

Oh, my gosh...that looks like so much fun! But I'm with Aaron. I don't like getting dirty either! But what a fantastic memory!
