Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Arkansas Children's Hospital sponsored a Family Night with the Arkansas Travelers. We enjoyed a pre-game BBQ and the game with other Doctors and their families. Isaac especially liked the game. When they played the Chicken Song, Isaac won a ball for being the best Chicken Dancer ( I wish I would have gotten a picture). It was hilarious! Hayden enjoyed popcorn and sprite, Caite just liked being with her Daddy, and Halle is becoming a trooper being drug everywhere. It was nice to spend time with Dad!

Fame

Isaac: "Hey mom we're going to be famous!"

That was Isaac's reaction after our encounter with Fox News this morning. It just so happened that this morning I took the kids on a walk across the "Big Dam Bridge". It's close to our house and a fun place to walk. The kids loved walking across the river and being able to see look down on it. They also saw the cool "lock system they used to use with Steamboats a long time ago. So we walked across and walked back...I think it's a good 2 miles round trip...or it seemed like that walking at a 3 -year -olds pace. On our way back I could see tons of people and News Vans. Come to find out the Surgeon General was in town from Washington D.C. to promote exercise for children and talk about the child obesity problem. So we happened to be in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing. And it just so happens that Aaron and I made the decision just a few days ago that we would unplug the TV...mostly due to kids fighting and not obeying, but whatever works. So we were interviewed and video taped and made our Debut on the Fox 5:00 news. Here's the link for the written article. That's my Man

Aaron works VERY hard and puts in EXTREMELY long hours at Arkansas Children's Hospital . Every time I meet someone he works with, they praise him. Doctors compliment him regularly. So I wasn't surprised when last night we were invited to the Residency Graduation (even though he isn't graduating), and he was awarded the "Outstanding Intern". Now he has a new plaque to add to his collection. Aaron was quite surprised and humbled that his colleagues thought so highly of him. That says a lot coming from such a huge hospital.

Neglect

I have neglected my blog the last several weeks. Time seems to be slipping by so quickly. Now that Isaac is out of school, I have been trying to keep us all busy and happy. Most days it would probably be beneficial to wear a referee shirt and have a whistle. Here are pictures of what we have been up to.

Conversation with Hayden

The kids were out playing in the yard with the neighbors, I looked out the window to check on them and couldn't see Hayden. I found him hiding in the garage...he just pooped his pants. I brought him in, cleaned him up, bathed him, and this was the conversation that followed.

H:"Can I go back outside?"

Me (a little snippy):"No, because you just pooped your pants."

H: "Does that make Jesus sad?"

Me: "I don't know, but it makes me sad because I have to clean up the mess?"

H: "Yeah, Jesus doesn't clean up my poop. That's gross!"

I laughed and sent him back outside.

Oh the joys of Motherhood! Cleaning up poopy pants was not in our conversation when we decided to have children.

Hayden turns 3! He had a fun time opening his presents and going to the Purple Cow!

This, That, and the other

I don't even know where to start, it has been soooooo long! It has been a busy month for us. We had my birthday, Hayden's birthday and Mother's Day all in the same week. Hayden turned 3 and was so excited. All he wanted to do for his birthday is eat at the Purple Cow. It's a cute 50's type hamburger and shake joint. So that's what we did. We all ordered dinner except Hayden...he just wanted purple ice cream...so that's what he had. We also went to the soccer park that morning and played on inflatables. It was a fun day.

I'm way excited about my birthday present. I got a new camera but I'm still trying to figure out how to download and store the pictures. I'm not so good with this tech stuff. As soon as I figure that out, I will share.

Halle went in for her check up today. She's just about 5 months and is only 13.4 lbs. and 23 inches long. She's totally a pip-squeak in the 25 percentile. She's so different than my other kids. My boys were off the charts over the 100 percentile from the time they were 2 months old. Halle my be small, but she hits all the mile markers...she's rolling over, laughing, and reaching out for things. She's definitely a mama's girl. She follows my voice where ever I am. Here's a picture of her first experience eating rice cereal a few weeks ago.

We've also been working in the yard. We've planted lots of flowers, moved lots of bushes and made it look beautiful. It looks really nice. A vast improvement from when we moved in a year ago. Once again you'll have to wait on the pictures.
