From the time he was young, Aaron has wanted to fly on a medical helicopter. Now he has that opportunity. Not only is it fun but he gets paid extra to do it. He usually picks up night shifts...the past 4 shifts he has worked he hasn't been called out, so he gets to sleep and still makes $--not too bad. He had two shifts in a row this week so he brought his helmet home for the kids to see. I think the helmet put a little flying bug in Isaac. Can you see that excitement in his eyes? He thought it was awesome!

Angel One
Angel One is the helicopter transport system for Arkansas Children's Hospital. Aaron is one of the lucky doctors who gets to fly on it and pick up sick kids from all over the state. How it works is smaller Hospitals call when they have a child to critical for them to handle. The Angel One team flies to them, gets the patient stable and then takes them back to Children's to get the treatment needed. Usually these kids are very sick or burned...not in good shape at all.

I think it is super awesome that Aaron is living his dream. He's the doctor that I'd want my critically ill child to have, too.
My cousin was flown in Angel One, my grandfather rocked babies in the NICU for years, my kids just spent the day at Childrens having their tonsils and adenoids removed. Those who inhabit this place are Angels themselves be it doctors and patients. Thanks Aaron for all that you do.
Awesome! Nice perk! I like the name, Angel One. Aaron rocks! When do you start applying for fellows? Ps. I was reminded of our small superbowl party last sunday! Aggh...good times. I think we had enough food to feed 20!
Isaac looks great in that helmet! Aaron is an angel to many parents...it's good to have him in the family. And you, Amy, are an angel for letting him live his dream!
That is so cool!
What a neat experience. I've always wanted to fly on a medical helicopter as well...maybe someday. The money is definitely a nice perk and to get to sleep and make that much, even better!
Watch out though with Isaac, he is going to follow in his daddy's footsteps for sure!
We love to keep up with your blog... yes even Larry reads it. What an awesome job that you have both sacrificed and worked hard to make happen. We are proud & happy for you. Are your dreams better when you are making $700 while you are working (sleeping)?
Tell him congratulations. That is so awesome!!
